Baked Cromer Crab with Cheese
How to make

Pre-heat oven to gas mark 6/200 C/400 F

Remove meat from the shells and put into large bowl. Keep shells aside.

Melt butter, mix in mustard, nutmeg, lemon juice and cayenne pepper. Gently stir mixture into crab meat. Careful not to break meat up too much.

Spoon mixture into shells and level gently level.

Mix together breadcrumbs and melted butter, add grated cheese. Sprinkle mixture on top of crab, put onto baking tray and bake for approx. 10-12 mins, until golden brown and heated through.

Serve hot with a squeeze of lemon juice.


4 dressed crabs 

15g breadcrumbs

25g butter 

1Tbsp melted butter

Juice of half a lemon  

25g cheese, finely grated

1tsp English mustard

Pinch fresh nutmeg

Pinch cayenne pepper
